Gratitude now and in retirement

Learning To Be Thankful Now and in Your Next Phase of Life.

What a great week to start my blog! The week that we dedicate to remembering and giving thanks. As you begin to think of the next phase of life I want you to think of giving thanks daily so that you can being to cultivate an attitude of gratitude which will continue as you move into the next phase of life.

All of my entries in this blog will focus on how you can live a satisfying life now so that you can transition into the next phase easily, effortlessly, smoothly and with joy.

Most of us know the social acceptableness of saying, “thank you” when we’ve received a compliment or a gift, but few people know the importance of gratitude. Gratitude can help you to achieve the best in life, since it encourages you to celebrate everything that is good in your life. Gratitude also teaches you to be humble; when you realize that the good things in your life are indeed a gift, and that there are people all over the world who would love to have some of the things you do, you will develop a new appreciation for your job, your family, and even the time you get to spend alone every once in a while. If gratitude doesn’t come especially easy to you, using a few simple tools will help you to invite more goodness into your life.

You should start every day with gratitude. When you first move into a new home, receive a promotion at work, or enter into a new relationship, you are so grateful for the new experience that you can hardly stop talking about it. However, after the excitement wears off, you begin to become less grateful, and start to take these things for granted. Make a point to start the day by being grateful for everything that you have, even the things that have been in your life for a while.
